Gunshot
One of the main makeup tricks we done was a gunshot to the middle of my forehead, it is a vital part of the trailer so it was one of the first parts of the makeup we tried. It was successful and didn’t take a lot to do.
Items behind it:
Fake blood
How we done it:
What we done is simple, we made a hole/circle out of the tissue and cotton wool and stuck it to my face using PVA glue and when needed more tissue or cotton wool could be used to make it look more 3D. More of the PVA was used to make sure it was secure and it wasn’t going to fall off, after that foundation was applied to make it my skin tone so it looked like me skin. Then the palette was used to cause the bruising and give it colour that makes it look like I’m in pain, you don’t need to use a lot for this as there is still fake blood being used. After all of the above is done fake blood is applied several of times, the first time it’s applied you wait for it to dry so it can soak into the cotton wool or tissue so it looks like the cut is deep, then you apply more after to so that blood isn’t all dried and it looks like the cut is fresh and is still bleeding.
This took roughly a time of 30/45 minutes, this is including the drying time for the gunshot and all the other stuff added on.
Smiley Face
Another makeup trick we done was the burned/carved a smiley face into my cheek. This is kind of our stamp, its what makes our movie unique and it could be used in many different parts of the movie. In our trailer its being used in the missing poster, the title/name of the movie, on the victims faces when they approach the rest of the cast and the reason we done this is because it stands out more to the audience and it makes our movie unique in a few different ways, many other movies wont have this.
How we done it:
It is very similar to the gunshot set up and follows the same instructions. We started with a few pieces of tissue that we covered in PVA glue and stuck to my face. We cut a smiley face into the tissue covered in glue and we done this whilst it was on my face and with the end of a makeup brush. Whilst this was drying we added more around the smiley faces to make it more 3D and look more realistic. After approximately 40 minutes when it had all dried we applied foundation to make it look like it was my skin and more life-like. When foundation was finished being applied we added the eye shadow to the smiley face, we done it in the eyes and the mouth to make it look like the face was bleeding as that is what had been carved into my face. We applied many layers using different shades ranging from red to black so it looked like there was bruising and bleeding, after this was done we applied the first layer of fake blood. Again, the first layer is to look like i had been suffering for a while with this cut and so it looked more natural, then we applied the second coat to make it look like a fresh cut and so that it was still bleeding. The eye shadow through the fake blood is effective because it makes it seem like its swollen when on top of the tissue and seems like its really sore and hurts a lot.

Black Eye
The main reason behind the black eye is to look like i got punched as well as stabbed and being shot. We added it on to make it all look more realistic and because we felt it would be necessary for me to be beaten up. There are black eye's used in nearly every day makeup, this is because there are fights in nearly every show or film so it make it look more realistic a black eye is used.
Items behind it:
Eye shadow (red, green, blue and black)
How we done it:
We applied a base colour of green/blue and added red and black when needed. We just blended the colours together around my eye and added in the other colours to add more shading. With more colours it looks more life-like and more like a bruise than a patch of colour on my face. As the eye shadow is pigmented and has the colours we needed we used that as it blends really well and you don't need a lot of it.
