Research and Planning - Final Special FX

The final look for the makeup is a very unique look. It stands out from the crowd and gives the audience the feel of the goriness in a horror movie. We chose to do these on my face because no one has done a carved smiley face onto their cheek so it makes our trailer unique. All of these photos show every piece of the special effects make-up and then the final shot. I have added captions to tell you about each photo.

This is a close up of the gunshot on my forehead, there were 2 layers of fake blood applied the first one was applied just after the PVA glue had dried. Then we waited for that layer to dry and about 20 minutes later we applied the second layer which made it look more like a fresh cut.
This is the final special effects make-up look. It includes a black eye made with eye shadow and foundation, then we have the gunshot which was made with tissue, cotton wool, PVA glue, foundation, fake blood and eye shadow as well. We used the eye shadow palette because it was pigmented and made everything look realistic. We also then have the carved smiley face into my cheek, this is made with the same materials as the gunshot : tissue, cotton wool, PVA glue, foundation, fake blood and eye shadow.

This is a close up of the carved smiley face, it was made with : tissue, cotton wool, PVA glue, foundation, fake blood and eye shadow. These are effective materials to use because it made it all realistic and stand out, it made it 3D. We again had to let the first coat of the fake blood dry to make it look like it had been on my face for a while and then when the second coat was applied it made it look more fresh and more like a human cut.
This is a close up of the black eye/bruise that I have on my eye. This is was made with just eye shadow, this is effective as it looks more realistic and made it stand out, because the eye shadow is pigmented you don't need a lot of it as it blends out really well.
