Film Magazine 2

This magazine cover is one that stands out to me; it has colour and doesn't give away too much. The Dark Knight a great box office hit featuring Batman and the Joker are featured on the front of one of the worlds biggest movie magazine and it includes an interview of someone from a different movie/series. The joker is the main attraction this character is played by a huge actor that goes by the name of Heath Ledger. He's standing in a stance that suggests he's angry, his shoulders have broadened and he's holding a weapon and clenching his other fist which suggests anger and distraught. The picture is placed in a slight horizontal angle and doing this fills up more of the space on the front cover. If you look away from Heath you notice the background, the background doesn't look like its peaceful, it looks like a huge fight has kicked off and he could be the reason behind it as he is the only person you can see on the cover. There seems to be some type of explosion or fire in the background as debris has been thrown everywhere and it looks like some of it is alight. The buildings in the background look like they have been through a lot. The roofes look like they've been blown up, this is effective though as the buildings also look abandoned and like they haven't been touched in a while. Either that or they have gone the charcoal colour as they have been through a fire. The layout was thought of very well and is presented in a very smart and effective way. Heath Ledger is standing at an angle and the background revolves around him, the debris falls around him and he looks angry as if it was his fault that it happened. This is effective as the audience would be on the edge of their seats wandering what has happened and how it all kicked off. The Dark Knight is in bright green text just under his face and the quote underneath is "Batman vs. The Joker - The Summer Just Got Serious." this is a really effective slogan that fits the movie best as its something the joker quotes during the movie. Batman and the Joker have always gone against each other and the audience know that so the slogan is familiar to them. The summer just got serious was made from the famous quote the joker says which is "why so serious" but as the film came out in the summer they changed up the famous quote so it fit the films release date.
