Research and Planning - Poster Credits

This is the poster credits that Anna made in PhotoShop. The text is Tajan Pro and this was used to make the text, tall and thin. This is effective as it makes it look like an Oscar Winning Movie. Its unique because we had to make it link to our movie but its similar in the way we have the font and the layout.

Research and Planning - Missing Poster

This is the final missing poster that we are using in the trailer to show the missing person. It includes all the details you need to know about her and also gives you numbers that you can call if you find her or come across her. It includes her name, age, her last known location, what she was wearing and what she looks like and the date that she went missing. All of these are effective as you will know everything you need to know about her if you were to cross her in the street, you would know where roughly she would be if you live near her and you know what clothing she is wearing so its easy to spot if you crossed her.

Research and Planning - Animated Storyboard

This is our groups animated storyboard. Anna produced this in Toon Boom Storyboard Pro 5.5. It includes all of the scene's of the trailer and everything that happened throughout.

Research and Planning - Weather

For the day we were filming - 16th October 2017 we researched and checked what the weather would be like. It wasn't very promising but we thought that no matter what the weather is we should film, when we filmed it was cloudy and quite dark. This is effective as it makes the horror movie complete, with the bitterness and the freezing cold wind it just makes it seem more like a realistic horror movie. the weather fits in perfectly. For this we linked it to IT and the weather looks exactly the same, for IT to be a hit horror movie and have the same weather as us we thought it was effective as it shows that we are making sure everything is perfect.

Research and Planning - Script.

For our film trailer this is the script so far, we haven't written them all down because this is the parts with the main characters. We've written down these parts so we know what the main characters say. We split it up into lines with each character so that its easy to understand and can be read easily.

Research and Planning - Final Film Title.

For our groups final film title I decided to go for a screwed up piece of paper that i shaded in grey, with the letters for 'Smile' just laying on top of the piece of paper. I drew out the smile name onto a plain bit of A4 paper and to make it look effective for a horror movie i made it look like the letters were dripping, in the hint of blood or a liquid dripping down on the letters. I done this is black and white just to give it that eerie feel for the horror movie. I done that for all of the letters besides the i. I chose to do the i in the shape of a smiley face because in our trailer we have our signature smiley face which was carved into the victims cheek. So instead of the i being boring and like the other letters i made it a smiley face but you can also see that its still an i. I done this red and not dripping because i wanted it to link in with the smiley face on the cheek of the victim so i made it look a little bit like a wound and the reason i didn't make it look like it was dripping is because i didn't want all the letters to be the same so i made the i unique. The reason i didn't stick the letters down onto the bit of paper is because it looks very effective just resting on top of the screwed up piece of A4 paper as you can see the shadow from the letters, it doesn't look boring and bland and also it makes it look 3D which is also effective because it seems like its popping out at you. Overall, I think that this is a very good title and would stand out to the audience if they were to walk by and see it on a poster, its new, unique and links very well with our film idea.

Research and Planning - Shot List

In our trailer we are using a wide range of shots and many different angles so that it makes our trailer effective. Each of these shots are going to add effects in a number of different ways, the shots show different effects (low angle shows power and high angle shows vulnerability) this is effective as then we will know what power the characters have and how they are given off in the trailer.

The different shots we are using are:
Medium shot - shows body language and body language.
Long shot - Shows the whole body with body language and how they are presenting themselves.
Close up - shows facial expressions up close.
High angle - shows the characters power.
Low angle - shows the characters vulnerability.
Extreme close up - shows the expressions up close but even closer that a close up.

These are the shots we are using and they are effective and will make trailer perfect. In particular the high and low angle because they show the characters status and shows if they are in danger or not. The other shots we are using will be effective, as an example a medium shot is a great shot as you can see the facial expressions quite clear and also see the body language which can tell us how the character is feeling. Another one is a close up, this is very effective as you can see facial expressions from the character but also if it was of an object you would be able to see it close up with loads of detail. Finally, a long shot is great for showing the scenery and the characters whole body with the body language and also the scenery around them.
