Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
The trailer i chose was Kingsman: The Golden Circle. its a new action movie that has recently come out into cinema's that many people are going to see.
the camera shots i think that are effective that were used during the trailer were - long shot which showed all of the characters body language and where they are, medium shot which still shows their body language but not their whole body and has a closer view on their facial expressions, over the shoulder shows the camera show of the characters point of view and how they see things, close up which shows the character and their facial expressions, establishing shot which shows the city or scenery of where the movie has been filmed so we know where they are, birds eye view this is a shot that is filmed from the sky - it costs loads of money to do but it really effective as we again see the scenery and where the characters are based, medium to close up pan and zoom, extreme long shot which shows both the character and the scenery and also slightly used a dolly shot where the camera follows the actor around to see what they are doing or what they can see.
The pace of editing ranges; it starts of with a slower pace and shows more of each shot and everything around that shot and are quite a few seconds each but as the trailer gets to the action part the pace gets a lot quicker and they are only a couple of seconds each as it makes it more intense and causes more of an atmosphere. This is effective as the audience will get parts of the story line and from that they can add up the dots and when it comes to watching the movie they will see that they could have either have guessed right or wrong but either way they will love the film as the trailer doesn't give too much away.
The costumes are a huge part in the movie and what they wear could effect their overall appearance in the movie and give off the wrong opinion to the audience. As this movie is a sequel the costumes carry on slightly and they keep the costumes from the first one so there isn't a major change and the audience wont get confused. The costumes they wear are down to what scene they are in and what happens in that scene.
The titles are presented in many different ways; in the shop window when Taron Egerton (Eggsy) went to the shop that he had been told to, the titles of their names come up with a tiny camera shot of them in the movie, Kingsman comes flying towards the camera as the house was blown up and the door sign (Kingsman ) blows up with it. All names and titles are at the end of the trailer and say all of the main characters names and the director's name.
We know its an action/adventure movie because of the things used. It evolves of fighting, stealing, ninja like moves and reflexes. The main character 'Eggsy' uses weapons to defend himself, he fights to also defend himself. He has to go to all extents to try and keep the secret agency he works for a secret and he has to make sure nothing gets leaked out. There's very dramatic scenes where the music gets more intense and it creates an atmosphere. We know its an adventure movie because they travel quite alot and see different parts of the world whilst doing 'missions'.
Happy Death Day
Camera Shots
There were a range of camera shots used during this trailer and they were all used for different reasons. Close up was used to show the main characters facial expression when she woke up that morning when it all started and then every morning she woke up and the same day replays everyday. A medium shot was used to show her body language along with her facial expressions the day after what seems like they had a party and how she reacts when she feels terrible and has a hangover. Shes very tired and it seems like she is dizzy and because of this doesn't where she is and has to get back to where she stays. Over the shoulder was used several times during the conversations she has with her friends that are fast paced, this is done because its a better way of us seeing the conversation rather than a 2 shot the whole time. A long shot was used when she was running out of the dorm room to where she stays on what we think is the second day and shes running towards the situation but she doesn't know that yet. She is shocked in this scene as all the same things happen again and she doesn't know why or how this is happening. 2 shot is used when she was talking to her friends and telling them about all the stuff that's happening to her but from their facial reactions they don't believe her and she just has to get on with it. When the scene with her friend and the birthday cupcake comes round, point perspective was used so that we could see what the conversation would be like if we thought that we were that character in the movie. Its effective as we get to feel the realism of the scene and reactions of the characters and we feel as if we are part of the movie. Birds eye view was used during the scene where they are showing the scenery and where the movie is mainly set, this comes up after she wakes up on the third day and she realises that she is replaying the same day over and over again. This is effective as we then know what the scenery looks like and how and where shes been going after she leaves the dorm. A dolly shot is then used when the killer which has a baby mask on to disguise its face is chasing after her and trying to kill her, this is effective as we get to see the scene is what would be someone else's point of view.
Pace of Editing
The pace of editing is quite fast and shows parts of every scene in the movie so we get how the movie goes and it makes us wonder what the movie is going to be about specifically and everyone starts coming up with different scenarios and it puzzles us all. The pace of editing is fast so that it doesn't give away too much of the movie but it gives away enough that we can all guess and so that the trailer isn't confusing and it all makes sense.
Music
As the trailer starts there is an alarm and the sound of the alarm is a hip hop/R&B music - In da Club, 50 Cent. As the trailer carries on after the first scene the song In Da Club continues to play in the background of the whole trailer but cuts where the speech is involved. This specific song was used as its the main female characters birthday and because that was the song that she got woken up by as it was her alarm music. The 50 Cent R&B hit replays from the same bit every time she got killed, after every time she gets killed she wakes up in the same place at the same time and every thing is the same. When the second day comes round there isn't a song playing in the background, the sounds this time round are noticed more, the car alarm, the sound of the sprinklers and her heels on the pavement and once she realised that all of these were what had happened before that she starts panicking and she tells her friends but they dont believe her as its random and out of the blue. The days not fully the same the end of the day when she gets killed is different and thats when the high pitched sreeching eerie sound kicks in and shes on alert mode again. Once she had been killed the 50 Cent starts over at the same point and shes starting the day over. As we get to just over half of the trailer the music starts to fade out with the speech over the top, when there isnt much speech or the speech stops the music plays but very eerily in the background and its muffled and hard to understand. This carries on from that point onwards until the end of the trailer. As we approach the end of the trailer and she thinks she got rid of him and that she can carry on with normal life the police officer that approachs her then gets killed by her killer and as far as we know it carries on as the music starts playing at the end.
Costumes
The costumes are all very different from each other and are all linked to the characters and their personalities. The main character wakes up and it looks like shes wearing someone else's t-shirt and her underwear which suggests that she was out the night before and she didn't even get herself dressed and that the dorm owner did. When she leaves the dorm she is wearing was seems like the clothes she wore the night before when she went out clubbing or drinking. When she gets back to the place she is staying at it looks like she has had a shower and then gets changed into a jumper. That night she a party which is for her that she needs to attend so she changes into a white summer dress and them the same happens every time the day replays over she wears similar clothes and that how we know that the day replays over. All of her friends are wearing casual clothes that they could chill in during the day before the party starts and they wear smart going out clothes when the part comes round also, this is effective because we know that they are all similar but different in many different ways. The killer wears the same every day but its a creepy outfit and its one that stands out above the rest. He wears an all black tracksuit and black trainers and then a scary baby mask to cover his identity and this is effective as then in a crowd we would know who the killer is and he is easily spotted. It is also effective as its a scary costume and could scare some of the audience but this is effective as we know what the characters would feel like and we understand their feelings.
What we find out
We find out quite a lot of this film but we only know because we have to guess but most people probably guess the same. We find out that the main character who were aren't sure of the name went out drinking and when she wakes up on her birthday she has a very uneventful day and then has a party planned for the night, when it comes to the evening and everyone has turned up for the party she has got ready and as she is seeing if her make-up and hair is okay the killer comes up behind her but she thinks its someone that came thinking it was a dress up party and a few minutes later the killer kills her. The next day the same thing happens again and she isn't sure why but after a few days of the same events have gone by she gets the idea that the reason the day of her birthday is replaying and she keeps getting killed is because she has to keep going through this day until she finds out who the killer is or kills them. The deaths are the only thing that is different every day. She tells her friends about it and some of them support her and want to help but there is no way that is possible. Towards the end she thinks that she kills the killer by shooting it but a few minutes later and shes driving off very fast she gets stopped by a officer and then following on from that the officer gets run over by the killer and the it burns the car that she is in with petrol. Then the next day she wakes up and the same thing happens again and the trailer ends with a birthday that says happy death day which is the name of the film. It doesn't want to give too much away so it gives away the perfect amount and keeps people guessing.
Titles
The titles come in at 50 seconds and this is after the clips of the first death day happened. It comes up with the production titles and this is effective as, as the trailer goes on we know who was produced it and the audience will take a note of that as they may only have a couple of films productions that they like and if this is one then they will watch the movie. Then at 1:20 it says that the producer of this movie is also the producer of Get Out, The Purge and The Visit. These are huge hits that many people should know of meaning this could also be a huge hit. At 1:43 it says that it comes out in October and then at 1:55 it says that it comes out Friday the 13th. It is effective that they are split and come up at different times because it doesn't effect the footage and fits in perfectly with the fast paced clips that are involved. then after that "make every death count" comes up between the seconds of 2:01 and 2:05 this is effective as it is quick and draws people in and it comes up after a very important scene. Between the time 2:24 and 2:27 there is a birthday cake with Happy Death Day on it in icing and the cake links to the main character as it is her birthday and she has a party and then 2:27 to 2:29 the cake writing changes to Friday the 13th and after that the last 3 seconds come up with actors and actresses names and then the productions.
How we know what genre it is
We know what genre it is because of the music, how its all set out, what and who was used and just the overall outcome when you finish watching the trailer. Its a horror movie and consists of klling, murder weapons, a plot up until the murder and friends and family that have absolutely no clue at all what was happening. There were many different murder weapons used and many plots as everyday replayed and she had to go through everyday doing similar things to the day before. The murder in the evening of the day - her birthday is the only thing that is different for her everyday.Mise En Scene
Many different things were used throughout just the trailer. There were several murder weapons as everyday she got killed and it looked like it was a different weapon each time. There were different things used for the birthday party and the build up to that, there were many people involved also. The night before she had alcohol and she was very hungover on her birthday thats why she isnt sure what happened and was asking questions. Her friend gives her a cupcake before the party, just to make her feel like no one has forgotten her birthday and that all will be 100x better at her party where all her friends will be. There is also a sprinkler, car alarm and her phone alarm that are involved, all of these are involved in the morning of her birthday, she gets woken up by her phone alarm which is 50 Cent - In Da Club and its an upbeat song that woke he rup alomost instantly. As she stumlbes out of the dorm she comes across sprinklers and a car alarm which she finds extremely loud and its makes her head pound as she is hungover.

Digital Technology
How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?
What software was used?
The software i used for my coursework was Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
What equipment was used?
The equipment we used was an iPhone 6.
What were the technical pros and cons of the software and hardware?
The pros were it was items we already to hand so we didn't have to go out and buy anything, its easy to use and there are no complications behind it. the cons were that if we didn't charge our phone/camera it could die whilst filming and we wouldn't have time to finish it that day which could effect our trailer overall. if the phone got cold then it would turn off so we would have to wait for it to turn back on and at times it took a while.
In what ways was the technology used to create the production?
In what ways did the technology constrain or enable the production to be developed?
